Clinical Psychology tailored to the needs of women across the lifespan
Pip Johnson
Clinical Psychologist
B Psych (Hons), M Psych (Org), M Research, M Psych (Clin)
I have been practicing as a psychologist for ~15 years and for the last five years have been providing psychological support to women.
I created Butterfly Women’s Psychology as I am passionate about providing support to women through the various changes they encounter in life. These changes can bring about significant challenges and can be difficult to navigate. The butterfly is a symbol of transformation, hope, and endurance. It is my hope that with the right support, that women can emerge from these transitions feeling stronger and more positively than before.
My background
Prior to moving into Clinical Psychology I spent ~10 years working in Organisational Psychology in corporate settings. I wanted to help people more, so I became a Clinical Psychologist.
Since moving into Clinical Psychology, I have worked with people across the lifespan both in Australia and internationally. I have supported individuals with a range of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychosis, anger management, stress, and low self-esteem. I have also worked as a group therapist in a private hospital setting.
I draw from a range of evidence based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Schema Therapy, positive psychology, and mindfulness-based interventions.
